SUBSTANCE USE & ADDICTION

Virtual Opioid Dependency Program (VODP)

Same-day medication starts anywhere in Alberta to help treat opioid dependency and increase chances of recovery.

What is VODP?

This program provides initiation and maintenance of Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) medications to people with opioid use disorder and helps them access services they need to live healthy lives. This virtual program does not require a client to access services at a physical site, expanding access to OAT across the entire province and increasing the availability of same-day medication starts.

VODP teams consist of physicians, nurses, addictions counselors, social workers, pharmacists, and professional support staff working together to support patients.
