ABOUT RECOVERY ALBERTA

Recovery-oriented care

Transforming Alberta’s addiction and mental health system to focus on long-term recovery.

Overview

Recovery-oriented care is a coordinated network of personalized services and supports providing a continuum of care options for people at risk of or suffering from addiction and mental health challenges. This is a foundational component of Recovery Alberta’s programs and services, where we adopt a recovery-oriented approach for addiction and mental health.

The Alberta Recovery Model focuses on four main pillars including prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery. Recovery Alberta will continue with this focus and ensure best practices are used from around the world to support evidence-based treatment and recovery. The Alberta Recovery Model was developed by the Government of Alberta – visit alberta.ca/recoveryworks to learn more.
